The Next Generation: Connected Together.
Generation Connected is an organization that aims to provide K-8 students with free tutoring resources and help them stay engaged as the school year transitions into remote learning. For Miami-Dade county students, the 2020-2021 school year will kick off virtually on August 31st. Decisions to transition into in-person learning will be made on the last day of September.
We recognize that remote learning, a new model of learning, may be tough for a student, and as high school students, we understand how hard it is to keep students engaged and have a hard time reaching out for extra help.
In Generation Connected, we pair K-8 students with passionate high school students who are talented and outgoing.
Our services are 100% free and student-led. We highly encourage our peers to stay involved in the community and use their passion and knowledge for the betterment of the future. And the future is us. Beyond our Connected Tutoring program, the organization aims to provide high school peer-to-peer advisement on all things high school and college-related. From improving time management skills to landing your first job, we hope that Generation Connected can be a community that helps each other -- instead of competing with one another. We want to highlight the works of all students, so if you wish to submit to our blog page, please contact us below and we will get back with you.
"Education should not have a gap or be a divisive force: it should connect students to success."
Sapere Aude
"To dare to think."
We encourage all students to be assertive and be vocal about their thoughts, feelings, and opinions. Generation Connected wants to encourage more arts and humanities engagement in K-8 students and high schoolers alike.
Opportunities
"A chance is all it takes."
We want to give high school students the opportunity and chance to be leaders in their community by showcasing their role in Generation Connected.
Accessibility
"Access to resources shouldn't be a scavenger hunt."
We aim to highlight resources and more information on our educational system -- particularly in Miami-Dade County.
